Virtua Inter-professional Innovations in Care Conference
"Got Evidence?"

You are invited to submit an abstract proposal to be considered for poster or podium
presentation based on your research or evidence-based practice project at the Virtua Interprofessional
Innovations in Care Conference.

Abstracts must be related to a practice change based in some part on scholarly evidence.

Objectives
The overall conference learning objectives are:
 Learners will describe the process of locating evidence utilizing electronic databases.
 Learners will discuss strategies for securing funding to support research and evidence-based
projects.
 Learners will identify steps when there is insufficient evidence to support a practice change.
 Learners will evaluate examples of research and evidence-based practice projects.

Podium Presentations
Podium presentations should be a report of a completed research or EBP project. Abstracts
require a title, purpose, two objectives, two bibliographic references, and a brief summary of
the content. Presentations should include the background & significance of problem, purpose,
methods, results, implications for practice and future research. To allow time for transitions
between speakers, presentations will be limited to 10-12 minutes with 3-5 minutes for
questions

Poster Presentations
Visual presentation of a completed or in-progress research or EBP project. Abstracts require a
title, purpose, two objectives, two bibliographic references, and a brief summary of the content
including background & significance of problem, purpose, methods, results or plan for
measurement, implications for practice and future researchons, the total not to exceed 15 minutes.

Guidelines and Submission Information
Abstract Deadline- The deadline for abstract submissions is April 24th, 2016.
Submission of Abstracts- Only electronic submissions using the online form will be accepted.
Incomplete forms, alternative formatted abstracts, or paper submissions will not be considered
for review.

Review Process and Notification

The abstracts will be judged through a blind review process based on the following criteria:
 Adherence to guidelines
 Clarity and Quality of abstract
 Potential for contribution to knowledge and/or practice
 Significance and innovation

Authors will receive email notification of abstract status on or about May 1st.

Acceptance to Present and Registration

Registration for the conference is not required for presenters; however, at least one author of
each poster must be available during the poster session to answer questions and comments.
Registration is free for all Virtua employees and external presenters (max of four per
presentation). All other non-Virtua employees will be charged $125 for registration. Further
registration information will follow.

If you would like support in writing and submitting an abstract, please contact Amy Glasofer
(aglasofer@virtua.org 856.761.3806). Support will also be offered to authors of accepted
presentations for poster development and/or effective speaking and presentation techniques
as needed.
